Period. is a series of animated documentary shorts about people’s first periods. Through first-person narratives and impactful animation, they capture diverse experiences and contexts –variously funny, traumatic, poignant and surprising.

3 billion people have a story about their first menstruation, yet you hardly ever hear them. Period. aims to change that. It’s a set of stories taken from actual experiences and brought to life by graphic-novel-style animations.

We also want to create a platform around the stories, for young people to access information and support, read additional stories and possibly even share their own experiences. We intend to make short, physical comic strips, too, to be distributed in health centers, youth clubs and schools.
